About DeskMasters, Inc.
Emailing the job did not permit him to rate it, add notes to it, or sort it by location or salary along with the other jobs he found. Saving it to the website account did not permit him to group his job with others from different websites. Copying data from the website to Word or Excel created a paperwork nightmare. That night, he set out on a mission to either find or create a central repository for the jobs and other information created during a job search. That night, he began work on theJobDesk.
theJobDesk has evolved from a Web 1.0 website to a Web 2.0 website to what it is now: a Web 2.0 desktop application. This medium merges the Internet connectivity of a website with the speed, security, and convenience of a program that every user owns. If theJobDesk is to be a tool that job searchers can commit to, it must be available when the Internet is not, must provide users a way to backup their own data, and must be built on a sound business model. Discovering the Adobe Flex and AIR technologies that the program is built on has allowed the DeskMasters to provide these features in a low-cost solution.DeskMasters, Inc. wishes to thank the career coaches, interface designers, sales and marketing people, quality assurance professionals and programmers that have helped design and develop theJobDesk. And most of all, the DeskMasters wish to thank those users that have given theJobDesk a try. We hope you enjoy it!
